Photos and Galleries


How do I view photos?

To view photos, just click on the thumbnail of the photo that you'd like to see.

How do I upload my photos?

Before uploading your photos, make sure that none of them are larger than 5MB. You may not be able to upload any photos that are larger than 5MB.


  1. Click the Your Photos link under the Upload Now section at the top of any page.

  2. Click the Add Files button to search for the photos you want to add. Choose a file and click Add files.

  3. Note: Hold down the CTRL key and click on multiple files to open more than one at a time.
  4. Click the Upload Files button when you are finished.

How many photos can I upload?

You can upload as many photos as you like. However, each photo that you upload should be smaller than 5MB, because you may not be able to upload any photo that is larger than 5MB.

Is there a limit on the size of the photos that I can upload?

There is no limit on the actual physical size of the photo that you upload. However, the file size of each photo that you upload should be smaller than 5MB, because you may not be able to upload any photo that is larger than 5MB. When you upload a photo, Spotted™ resizes it and changes it to the format that works best on the Web.

How do I rotate a photo?

You can rotate your photo by 180 degrees, by 90 degrees to the right, or by 90 degrees to the left. To rotate your photo:


  1. Click on the photo that you want to rotate.

  2. Under Photo Options, click Edit My Photo. This will open the Edit My Photo window.

  3. In the Edit My Photo window, click:
    -Rotate Photo to the right if you want to rotate your photo 90 degrees to the right

    -Rotate Photo to the left if you want to rotate your photo 90 degrees to the left

    -Rotate Photo 180 degrees if your photo is upside down


  4. A dialog box will appear asking if you are sure you want to rotate the photo. If you are sure, click OK.



Note: It can take up to one minute to rotate the photo. You can refresh the page or click on the photo a few times to see if it has been successfully rotated.

How do I email my photos to my friends?

Emailing photos to your friends is easy once you've logged in to Spotted™.


  1. Click on the thumbnail of the photo you want to email.

  2. Under the Photo Options section, click Email This Photo.

  3. Use the text boxes to type in the recipients' email addresses (you can send it to up to ten people), your email address, your name, and any comments you want to be included with the photo.

  4. Click Send when you are finished.

How do I rate photos?

To rate a photo, click on the thumbnail of the photo that you want to rate. Then, click the arrow on the "Rate This Photo" drop-down menu and select a number to rate the photo. A rating of 1 is the lowest, 5 is the highest. After you've selected your rating, click Go to submit your rating.

How do I add a photo to my favorites?

First, click on the photo that you want to add to your favorites. Under the Photo Options heading, click Add To Favorites.

How do I organize my photos?

To organize your photos, put them into galleries. Galleries can be used to group your photos by subject, event, date, or any other criteria.

How do I create a gallery?

You can separate your photos into galleries. This is very useful if you want to group your photos by subject, event, date, or any other criteria.


  1. To create a gallery, click on the My Spotted tab.

  2. Under the My Galleries heading, click Create Gallery.

  3. Fill in the Gallery Name and other information in the dialog box that appears.

  4. Click Add when you are finished.

How do I view my galleries?

To view your galleries, click on the My Spotted tab.

Click My Galleriesin the horizontal navigation bar.

Can I choose which of my photos appears as my gallery's thumbnail?

Yes. To make a photo your gallery's thumbnail:


  1. Click on the photo that you want to set as your gallery's thumbnail.

  2. Under Photo Options, click Edit My Photo. This will open the Edit My Photo window.

  3. Click Make this photo the gallery thumbnail.

How do I view my community's galleries?

You can view your community's galleries on Spotted™. First, click on the My Spotted tab. Scroll down to the My Galleries heading and click Community Galleries.

How do I view other Spotted™ user's galleries?

You can view other people's galleries on Spotted™. Click on the Home tab. Then, point to Galleries in the horizontal navigation bar. You can sort the galleries based on the options that appear in the submenu that appears. Just click on the sorting option of your choice to view some galleries.


  • Newest The galleries that have been created most recently.

  • Most Viewed The galleries that have been viewed the most number of times.

  • Most Popular The galleries that have the highest average views per day.

  • Highest Rated The galleries with the highest rating.

  • Most Emailed The galleries that have been shared (emailed to other people) the most.

How do I rename a gallery?

You can easily rename a gallery from the My Galleries page. Just click Edit for the gallery that you want to rename. Edit the information in the Edit My Gallery dialog box that appears. Click the Update button when you are finished.

How do I delete a gallery?

You can easily delete a gallery from the My Galleries page. Just click Edit for the gallery that you want to delete. Then, click the Delete This Gallery link that appears at the top of the Edit My Gallery dialog box. Click OK to confirm that you want to delete the gallery and all of the photos contained within it.

How do I add a gallery to my favorites?

To add a gallery to your favorites, first click on the gallery that you want to add to your favorites. Under the Gallery Options heading, click Add To Favorites.

How do I view my favorite photos and galleries?

First, click the My Spotted tab. Under the My Favorites heading, click on the appropriate link to view your favorite photos or galleries.

Can I get my original files back from Spotted™?

When you upload a photo, Spotted™ resizes it and changes it to the format that works best on the Web. After this happens, the original file is not kept by Spotted™. If you want to access your original files later, it's best to save them on your computer.
